Made & Imported from Italy. Travertine Navona is the most luxurious and desired Travertine cut across the globe. It’s not a surprise as to why – the soft wavy veining and overall colour is light with subtle contrast. It’s neutral with a hint of warmth, and overall ties a modern minimalist space together.
The front side is hand beveled with a rounded bullnose edge which is normally done with machines today. This cut of travertine is thicker than most; meaning it is heavy yet solid. With modern designs, any table thicker than a 3/4” edge requires 2 slabs glued together to get an 1” edge or wider (unless specially sourced with a higher price tag). In this case the seam is shown. It’s important to note details like these elevate such a piece, and highlights the craftsmanship and time gone into building a high quality table.
Condition: Great condition as it is vintage circa 1970s. Fully sanded and given a honed/matte finish on the interior and exterior of the table.
Note: As a part of the design, there are 2 supporting travertine pieces on the interior corners. This is a normal addition to ensure the thick travertine is properly supported without any chance of instability in the future. This is necessary for all tables in this design and shape. These cannot be seen at eye level
